I love this. Going to go find this story now!... So many of our dichotomies are illusions born of a time bound experience. Elder wisdom is precious because it brings these shattered and minimised things together under one roof as one without stigmatising the experiences themselves... We need more elders.

This is such rich beautiful writing Jan -this really resonated for me. Of course, we find out, living life that while flowers are beautiful we need the talons. And equally, just because it looks fierce, it does not mean that it is not also soft, tender and vulnerable. Thank you,
